I am getting BSoD at least once a day. I have reinstalled win98 from CD over the existing installation but this hasn't fixed the problem so I guess the damage lies in the registry or in one of the files a re-install doesn't write over. OT: BSOD irql_not_equal_or_less...
MS KB suggests it is hardware related as you see on the BSOD. This is one of those mystery errors that only serious debugging can unravel. If you have a stock installation of XP Home, and have the latest drivers available from Sony, then the error *could* be related to the chipset hardware.

Problem With NdisProt

That wasn'ta problem, but it did not make any difference wrt. the INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE BSOD problem when booting from the hard disk, using multi() syntax, and the Zip drive powered up. Unless there are other ideas, I guess the only option is to live with a slow boot (using the scsi() syntax).

Approach to BSOD
BSOD all the way. It just will not play. Having given the matter some thought, and having spent time trawling the Knowledge base (fairly unsuccessfully) I applied sp2, and the machine seemed fairly stable. Thanks for any help.
