BSOD Issues
It's a mystery to me where Windows keeps the registry, does anyone know where it is and whether my solution is possible? If not anyone think of another solution? Worst comes to worst I'll boot from the Windows CD and do a full repair but then I'll have to reinstall all my programs as most of them use the registry

If I'd stay away from here until the day that Windows would BSOD on me, indeed it would most probably take until the end of time. But you run and use Windows daily, And it's no mystery why: when you're paid to develop something that has to compete in the marketplace you work longer and harder at it.

Yup, that mystery patch is suspect. I bet a PCI device is found near the scene of the crime as well. Don't forget to inspect your device tree, including hidden devices, to make sure there isn'ta conflict. it's definitely a hardware device issue, only those devices interact with windows and the BIOS that way.

Damned mystery to us to. -Scott -----Original Message----- Hi, I've been experiencing an odd variation of blue screen's in Windows XP since upgrading my system. The weirdest part is it only happens once a day, when I first turn on my PC, after the reboot, it will run perfectly all day long.

Mystery BSOD - what is causing this?
It's frustrating to see a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), but it's even more frustrating to just see your computer continually rebooting for no apparent reason. It's possible the problem is unrelated. I can start up in safe mode. I've attached my event log for those who might solve the mystery from that.
